It is no secret millions of consumers spend too much time on social media. According to a Neilsen market research report, Americans devote a minimum of eleven (11) hours reading, listening to, or directly interacting with media. Three hours and forty-eight minutes (3:48 hours) of this time is spent on computers, tablets, and smartphones.


If you are a new or existing business, of course, the first thought is to use social media as a method to capture clients through advertising in the same space as these consumers. 


The United States, by far, has the single largest consumer market of any country worldwide, representing over 26% of the entire global consumer market. U.S. consumers spent over $12.5 trillion in 2017, nearly three times as much as the second largest consumer market, China.
